  2. Thanks, I don't wear the outfit often, because it's so precious to me, but it makes me feel so good when I do wear it. Amazing cut. I've only just started this blog, so thanks so much for the encouragement, it means a lot to know you liked this post.

  11. Oh, fabulous! I love Biba, when I was little I used to see it in my grown up cousin's magazines and tell myself I'd wear that when I grew up, long gone by then of course. And I hope you don't mind my saying but you have the most gorgeous hair.

  19. I LOVE this jumpsuit and it looks fantastic on you! Your grandmother certainly had amazing style. This piece would probably fetch quite a lot of money as vintage Biba but I dare say you might not ever want to part from such a treasure from your grandmother for purely the sentimental value - I know I wouldn't!

    1. Yes, I may be tempted to sell it at some point, as it's a bit too tight on the waist, but would be sad to do so. The outfit was actually owned by my other granny, not the couturier. They both had amazing style and I hope they'd be proud that I'm showing off their precious clothing like this! Now they've both passed away it helps me to still feel close to them when I wear their clothes.

  25. Stumbled across your blog by accident and I'm so glad I did!
Firstly, I really identify with creating a blog as a homage to your grandmother Kiki. She sounds like a talented lady and it is wonderful that you are sharing her legacy through this blog.
Funnily enough, my blog is a homage to my mother, who ran a boutique in the Midlands for thirty years named Calico Casa.
My mother has been such an inspiration in my life and she taught me how to dressmake. I am planning lots of posts soon-(my blog is relatively new too) on old customers who I tracked down who still own clothes or wedding dresses made my my mother.
Secondly; I LOVE Biba. I am totally in love with the rich jewel colours-and the ethos that Barbara Hulanicki created. You look amazing in that jumpsuit-what an incredible garment. Not long ago I was at the V&A and they had some exhibition stands dedicated to Biba clothing-they would have died if they saw this outfit, theirs wasn't a patch on yours!
Do come and have a look at my blog:

    1. What a gorgeous message, Christobel, how lovely that we're both blogging in homage to the women in our family! I've just had a look at your blog and it's beautiful. Did you design the gorgeous background yourself? That calico blouse is stunning. I'd love to see more of your designs. The post of Zandra Rhodes was great too.
My granny tried to teach me to become a designer too but sadly I didn't have the talent, although at least I have the talent to appreciate her talent! So glad you love the Biba.
      You have your newest follower!

    2. I'm so glad you like it. I did draw the designs...hopefully I will be able to put a few more things I've made up soon :)
Thank you so much for the folllow-am enjoying reading all about your wonderful country life too-there aren't many blogs like it! You've found a niche!

  27. Thanks so much Liz! Really glad you like the post, and so glad you share my appreciation of my amazing Biba! I thank my lucky stars that I was my grannies only granddaughter so don't have to share their heirloom clothes with my brothers! I may decide to sell the outfit in the future, so may contact you to pick your brains about doing so at some point :)
