Along the hard crust of deep snows,
To the secret, white house of yours,
So gentle and quiet – we both
Are walking, in silence half-lost.
And sweeter than all songs, sung ever,
Are this dream, becoming the truth,
Entwined twigs’ a-nodding with favour,
The light ring of your silver spurs...
To the secret, white house of yours,
So gentle and quiet – we both
Are walking, in silence half-lost.
And sweeter than all songs, sung ever,
Are this dream, becoming the truth,
Entwined twigs’ a-nodding with favour,
The light ring of your silver spurs...

Sorry I've been remiss at visiting blogs this week, since the snow thawed work has has been unusually busy - indeed you could say I've been snowed under teehee - but I'm looking forward to popping by all your lovely blogs again very soon!
I send you sunshine, and you give me these wonderful snow pics so rare and precious to me, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDeleteThank you, my dear friend.

Thank you my dear beautiful Sacramento for your heavenly words, and your sunshine!
DeleteWhat a pretty shirt! The photo of your cat looking out the window is so sweet. ;)
ReplyDeleteAh thank you, so glad you like it!
DeleteHow beautiful everything looks in the snow. Are those chambray denim harems? I love those - I had a pretty similiar pair when I was a teen and I was devastated when I grew too big for them. The leopard trim jumper is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed chambray denim harems! So comfy to wear and always make me feel like a principal boy! Thank you lovely Veshoevius.
DeleteI adore your gorgeous snow pictures! x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sophie, so glad you do!
DeleteI'm finding that fairytale-like snowy landscape heart-wrenchingly beautiful! Like a magical storybook world right at your doorstep. That fur coat is just gorgeous, as are you x
ReplyDeleteWow what a wonderful compliment Willow, thank you how kind of you!
DeleteI love the poem, and those stupendous pants!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed the poem, Amber, Akhmatova was incredible russian poet, beautiful stuff. Glad you like the pants too :)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite photos is the one of you looking up surrounded by a mantle of white.
Have a great week,
Ah thanks so much Ofelia! The Lumineers are great aren't they. Wishing you a lovely week too :)
DeleteWow it looks SO COLD!!! The faux fur trim on that top is gorgeous - I might attempt a similar DIY in winter. STay warm!! Sarah xxx
ReplyDeleteIt was bloody freezing! Not so much now, as the snow has thawed, but we were snowed in for a week so it was hard core cold outside, and gave lots of opportunity for photoshoots! Warm and cosy in the cottage though, thankfully :)
DeleteWhat stunning pictures, that jumper is a beauty and so are you! x
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Vix, how kind of you!
DeleteI love the photo looking through the window. I've always liked photos and paintings that do that, either looking out or in.
ReplyDeleteMe too, windows are such beautiful framing devices for landscapes aren't they. Particularly when it's too cold to be outside for long!
DeleteAlways so many delightful surprises when I come to your blog. The leopard print trim paired with harem denim trousers create a unique and beautiful silhouette. Your photos of winter are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAh thank you Judith, so glad you enjoyedo them! And that you like the silhouette of the outfit - I felt like an Arabian prince with a bit of faux leopard thrown in!
DeleteOh my goodness, the snow! What gorgeous views. And I love your trousers too, fab silhouette. Thanks for linking up : >
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your compliments Patti, and for letting me be one of you fabulous Monday ladies!
DeleteBeautiful and evocative. The landscape is breathtaking and I love the denim harem pants with the black and leopard. Your hair is gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteGosh I'm so flattered Jean, thank you! My hair is its natural messy long curliness, with a wildness that I've also enjoyed! So glad you enjoyed the post.
DeleteWhat beautiful snowy photos! Loving the fur-trimmed jumper, it has a 50s va-va-boom sexiness about it, very Swetaer Girl! xxx
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed the post, thank you, and yes the jumper makes me think 50s too, Bardot off the shoulder style!
Deletewow you are living in a winter wonderland;) and how beautiful is that leopard fur trimmed jumper! one of a kind!

Yay thanks Mary Lou, it was a real bargain that jumper, less than a fiver from ebay, I do love second hand shopping :)
DeleteLove the shot of the flowers poking out from the snow.
ReplyDeleteThank you, me too, it's a lovely emblem of spring approaching isn't it, and thank goodness.
DeleteOh such beauty! You are so lucky to have such a beautiful view from your home, it must be so cosy to be able to sit inside with a cup of tea and look out onto the snow covered fields :)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautifully cosy and great to look out of the fields with a cuppa, so true! It's an old cottage so it gets pretty cold though, have to have lots of open fires to keep warm enough!
DeleteLook at those views! You lucky lady. I love this outift (especially your jumper), very cool! xx
ReplyDeleteAh thanks so much Kelly-Marie! We really are living in the deep country high, up a steep winding lane which becomes totally impassable when it snows! It meant lots of long walks into town to the train station, kept me fit!
Deletelove the coat, your pants look so comfy! love the effortlessly chic look! xx
