"What is the meaning of life? That was all- a simple question; one that tended to close in on one with years, the great revelation had never come. The great revelation perhaps never did come. Instead, there were little daily miracles, illuminations, matches struck unexpectedly in the dark; here was one.”

CALLING ALL UK CHARITY SHOPPERS!
There are many wonderful things about being pregnant, and growing a bump twice as large as the usual; but finding maternity and nursing (breastfeeding) clothes is nigh on impossible without resorting to the High Street brands, which I hate to do.
I don't want to have to dress like a dull as dishwater mummy in striped nursing top and leggings just because I'm pregnant, it shouldn't have to be that way! With potentially a few years of breastfeeding ahead of me though, I need all the help I can get from you gorgeous vintage shopping goddesses, to find beautiful second hand nursing clothes, particularly dresses, that don't cost a bomb and help hide the tum...
So if any of you eagle eyed UK based lovelies ever see any size 10 - 12 maxi/nursing dresses (with buttons down the chest, pull down tops or covered slits for the nipples) when you're perusing your local charity shop haunts, please do pick them up for me and I will repay you the money with interest, and many many thanks!
Thank you all so much for your kind congratulations and well wishes!
I look forward to charting my multiple pregnancy progress through this blog in the months to come.
Allo Emalina!

So many of my favourites crammed into this post: Virginia Woolf/Kate Bush's Ariel/fabulous florals and glorious, blooming you. Will certainly keep an eye out when haunting charity shops.
ReplyDeleteHow are the babies coming along- When are they due?
ReplyDeleteYou do look radiant and glowing.
That beautiful flower dress must help to feel good too.
Much love to all of you.

Ah, look at you! Blooming madly indeed! And rather gloriarsely!
ReplyDeleteFabularse frock, and coat......love Virginia Woolf!! XXX
Looking like a Russian princess, my dear, and yes indeed, blooming beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI will certainly keep a look out for dresses for you. Do you mean dresses for the pregnancy? Or are you hoping to double up and wear them after the babes are here too? My experience of breast-feeding was that separates were a lot easier, but maybe it depends on the style of dress, and also how much boob you are happy showing! If you can show us on your blog the sort of style you have in mind, I'll get searching.
Hope you are feeling as well as you look! xxx
Love the post title! You are indeed blooming madly...in more ways than one. I would have so many fabulous clothing ideas for you in pregnancy and beyond...

Emalina, hugest of congratulations! You look wonderful. I lived in dresses I found on Etsy.com during my pregnancy, although I resorted to leggings and big tops near the end. Looking forward to seeing and reading more if your journey. Xox

Your are so gorgeous in your florals with leopard print! The roses are the perfect touch, as you honor us with your process. Will be thinking of you when I'm out and about at the thrift and consignment shops here in Denver.

ReplyDeleteYou look like a beautiful princess, floating through her gardens! I wish I could help more with clothing ideas, but you will get a lot of assistance from these wonderful blogger-friends. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday!
ReplyDeleteIn so many ways, what a wonderful time to be pregnant, The world turns, wonky and disturbing in it's way, but you live in an era where "the bump" is it's own fashion statement. You just rock it so romantically. You'll handle the mommy-ship clothing issue beautifully, I just know it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You are absolutely blooming and look gorgeous! Besides your glow, that dress and coat look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! that dress is fabulous on you! I will keep my eyes peeled for chic secondhand pregnancy clothing.
ReplyDeleteDull as dishwater 'average' mummy in striped nursing top and leggings? I could never see you as such! I can't help with the nursing clothes suggestions but I do think you more than anyone will be someone to turn the average mummy dressing on it's head completely. You look amazing in this outfit - totally inspiring! Looking forward to seeing you through the coming months.
ReplyDeletewonderful outfit ... love the mix of the prints. you looks so gorgeous!
