Enchanted Garden, & A Spy Girl Portrait

"Whoever considers as in a painting the great picture of our mother Nature in her full majesty; whoever reads such universal and constant variety in her face; whoever finds himself there, and not merely himself, but a whole kingdom, as a dot made with a very fine brush; that man alone estimates things according to their true proportions."
Michel de Montaigne, The Essays via 1

I'm deeply honoured and delighted to have been immortalised in this wonderful portrait by the very talented Anne, our inspiring blogger friend at Spy Girl!
Not only has Anne so kindly given me this amazing portrait, but she's also hosting a brilliant link up at Spy Girl, which I'm very happy to be a part of. The theme this week? 70's flashback, perfect!
I'm also excited to be a part of Hat Attack, a new link party held by the wonderful Judith of Style Crone, do click on her website link to see her amazing hat, and do join in!
Last but by no means least, I am as ever delighted to be a part of the next Visible Monday, hosted by the lovely Patti from Not Dead Yet Style, click on the website link to see her outfit and those of many others.
Sorry I'm very behind on my blog visits, hoping to rectify this in the next few days.
Every evening after work is presently spent picking (and eating) the glut of raspberries, tayberries, loganberries, wild strawberries, gooseberries and blackcurrants that have exploded in our fruit cages.

  1. Ohhhhhhhhhh your life sounds absolutely dreamy at the moment! So many delicious berries to be eaten, lucky you :D Do you plan on making preserves with any of them? When I was in Russia last month I picked so many berries that my grandma ended up using the ones we didn't manage to eat to make jam :)

Also, is that darling blue door with the roses growing around it the door to your cottage? If it is, I am in awe :3

  2. Your pictures are so beautiful. I always feel like you are telling a story. Love the dress and gosh what beautiful flowers!

  3. Your Spygirl portrait is lovely! As is the cottage, the cottage door, the roses, the garden, you...all lovely! Nice to see Kit again...sorry, I forgot her name.

  4. Is that your flower garden? It is paradise! You are wearing a beautiful & flattering dress as well.

  5. Such gorgeous photos as usual.

  6. gorgeous you... gorgeous garden equals visual bliss.

  7. What a gorgeous dress from Kinky Melon, Vix has some great stock. You look beautiful, the frock fits you perfectly. You are a romantic vision floating among the blooms and the berries in the sunshine! xxxx

  8. Your straw hat with the scarf embellishment is divine, as is the gypsy dress from Vix. Especially amidst the summer blossoms that you so beautifully post, displaying your creativity and talent once again. I love the portrait by Spy Girl (speaking of creativity and talent).

Thank you so much for linking up to Hat Attack!

  9. Beautiful you!! I love that dress on you, and the flowers just make my heart sing! Thanks for the links. Will have to check them out, but I have been busy moving and unpacking, so I am waaaaay behind on blogs!! If you get a chance, I would love for you to peep at this dress and help me date it!

  10. What a beautiful place you live in! Indeed the garden looks enchanted. You look as amazing as always. The dress suits you and the surroundings perfectly.

  11. That dress looks ever more beautiful on you than I hoped, you look incredible, it fits you perfectly.
Love your pretty garden and that gorgeous blue door. Anne's done us all proud and you're another muse she's captured wonderfully! xxx

  12. I adore your dress so very much, beautiful gal! It reminds me - and, yes, this is a somewhat strange mashup, I know - of a Regency Jane Austen-esque style meets Little House on the Prairie American frontier floral print calicos. It's summer, feminine and oh so lovely - just like I adore my own dresses to be as well.

Big hugs & the happiest of August wishes,
    ♥ Jessica
