Welcome To The Geopod

The soul selects her own society,
Then shuts the door;
On her divine majority
Obtrude no more.

Unmoved, she notes the chariot's pausing
At her low gate;
Unmoved, an emperor is kneeling
Upon her mat.

I've known her from an ample nation
Choose one;
Then close the valves of her attention
Like stone.

  6. Oh, a geopod! I've never encountered one before. It reminds me of a bit of the yurt circular tent cabins they have overlooking Big Sur. You look perfect in that setting (and I love Donna Karan). Lovely to see the Emily Dickinson poem too. Did you hear about the online archive that Harvard, Amherst, etc. decided to let the public see? Now, everyone can be a lay scholar on Dickinson. -- J xx

  7. A gown in a geopod. Like peas in a pod. Errr. The contrasts are wonderful! You guys always stay in the most interesting dwellings.

  10. My head is spinning. The romantic past is juxtaposed with a pastoral future. The setting is gorgeous, the poetry evocative, and you are divine. XXOO

  11. Fabulous, reminds me of my favourite programme - Small Spaces with George Clarke!
    Glad you've got your tights on under that frock, the weather's turned proper parky round here, not the night for sleeping out! xxx

  12. So, I got to the bottom of the post, and realized that I was so enchanted with the geopod, and the vista, and the mood, that I completely overlooked....You! What a magical little setting this is...almost off the grid I hope? I can literally hear the silence...golden!

    Now back to you. I did, of course, scroll back and you do look lovely and elegant and completely deserving of such a beautiful space! Heavenly!

  15. A perfect way to spend a holiday. Glamorous and relaxed! I've not see a Geopod until now, so thank you for the introduction. A closet, flowers and a vintage leopard coat. What more does one need?

  18. It takes a real woman to wear satin while on any variation of camping! And what a beauty you are in it. Pretty luxe camping ... just what I like. My idea of wilderness camping is a great view of the mountains from my room in the lodge.
    Ah, Emily. All this and pretty pictures too. Your blog always decorates my day!
