“Then I felt too that I might take this opportunity to tie up a few loose ends, only of course loose ends can never be properly tied, one is always producing new ones. Time, like the sea, unties all knots. Judgements on people are never final, they emerge from summings up which at once suggest the need of a reconsideration. Human arrangements are nothing but loose ends and hazy reckoning, whatever art may otherwise pretend in order to console us.”

Photographs taken by me, self portraits using the timer on my little digital camera.
Taken at Trebarwith Strand, Cornwall, on an effing cold day in April.
I'm delighted to be a part of the next Visible Monday, hosted by the lovely Patti from www.notdeadyetstyle.blogspot.co.uk, click on the website link to see her outfit and those of many others.
What a gorgeous beach that is, I wish the beaches near me had those beautiful rocky shores! Wonderful images (particularly the first and ninth). That flowly skirt is perfect for running around the beach and soaking up the sunshine (even if it is freezing!). I'm coveting your tights too.
ReplyDeleteI have chosen to prioritize closeness to friends and family in my present life, but in the next life I will live by the sea
ReplyDeleteYou look a bit like a fairy from nature - all natural colours and enjoying the elements.
ReplyDeleteSo perfectly evocative of the past, yet also present and future. Time is messy in a glorious way, with all those loose ends in the breeze. The coastline is very similar to that of Oregon, one of my favorite places. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNature and You, wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
ReplyDeleteI need to be touched by your soft wings, dear Emalina.

I love that book and I love the sea too, you remind me of Sarah Mills in the film 'Ryan's' Daughter in these pictures, beautiful post. xx
ReplyDeleteSarah Miles I mean! xx
ReplyDeleteIt may have been effing cold but you've warmed my cockles! You look beautiful (when don't you?) and I'd sell my soul for a glimpse of the sea. xxxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photography Emalina! Love how the wind captured your skirt! I also today's excerpt. I agree with Jean, your coastline is very much like Oregon's...fantastic.

Emalina, the pictures are beautiful, as always. I love how you always take us somewhere with words and pictures and beautiful scenery! And I keep saying this, but I always love reading about your clothes and finding out which ones were passed down. That is so cool! You are so pretty with your wavy hair!

You make me think of a Victorian heroine in these photos, I think it must be your glorious long curls and that beautiful billowing skirt! Such a romantic location! I love how wild this beach looks, it appears completely untouched by man. So hauntingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOoo, this looks so nice! I can practically feel the breeze from the water. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit blends with the rocks and the sand, you are like some sea nymph playing in the sunshine! It may have been freezing but you still look beautiful. Gorgeous images as always. xxx
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is wonderful! Seriously beautiful photos, despite the cold day!

Now, I know Iris Murdoch! Very high on my most admired list. Thanks for that link as well as your very romantic ensemble. I thought of The French Lieutenant's Woman on one of her happier days!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and evocative.
evveryone needs a granny like yours! such amazing pieces! the pics from the beach are wonderful, love the pic with the sea shells!
ReplyDeleteThe colors of your outfit beautifully reflect the gorgeous background. I'm sure that was not an accident with your flawless attention to detail. I am in awe.
ReplyDeleteLovely - I love the first pic!

That last photo makes me want to follow you to the water! Beautiful time by the sea. Murdoch's words ring true - Time, like the sea, unties all knots (though Gordian knot-like issues might take longer to unknot!). -- J xx
ReplyDeleteImmensely lovely images! We're very lucky to have not one, but two, beautiful (large!) lakes here in our town (and numerous others all around us in the nearby vicinity), but sometimes I still crave the sea (which is a few hundred miles away). There's just nothing quite like that saline scented, sun baked air come summertime.
