Take Me To The Water

“Then I felt too that I might take this opportunity to tie up a few loose ends, only of course loose ends can never be properly tied, one is always producing new ones. Time, like the sea, unties all knots. Judgements on people are never final, they emerge from summings up which at once suggest the need of a reconsideration. Human arrangements are nothing but loose ends and hazy reckoning, whatever art may otherwise pretend in order to console us.”

  1. What a gorgeous beach that is, I wish the beaches near me had those beautiful rocky shores! Wonderful images (particularly the first and ninth). That flowly skirt is perfect for running around the beach and soaking up the sunshine (even if it is freezing!). I'm coveting your tights too.

  2. I have chosen to prioritize closeness to friends and family in my present life, but in the next life I will live by the sea

  3. You look a bit like a fairy from nature - all natural colours and enjoying the elements.

  4. So perfectly evocative of the past, yet also present and future. Time is messy in a glorious way, with all those loose ends in the breeze. The coastline is very similar to that of Oregon, one of my favorite places. Beautiful.

I need to be touched by your soft wings, dear Emalina.

  8. Beautiful photography Emalina! Love how the wind captured your skirt! I also today's excerpt. I agree with Jean, your coastline is very much like Oregon's...fantastic.

  9. Emalina, the pictures are beautiful, as always. I love how you always take us somewhere with words and pictures and beautiful scenery! And I keep saying this, but I always love reading about your clothes and finding out which ones were passed down. That is so cool! You are so pretty with your wavy hair!

  10. You make me think of a Victorian heroine in these photos, I think it must be your glorious long curls and that beautiful billowing skirt! Such a romantic location! I love how wild this beach looks, it appears completely untouched by man. So hauntingly beautiful.

  20. Now, I know Iris Murdoch! Very high on my most admired list. Thanks for that link as well as your very romantic ensemble. I thought of The French Lieutenant's Woman on one of her happier days!

  24. That last photo makes me want to follow you to the water! Beautiful time by the sea. Murdoch's words ring true - Time, like the sea, unties all knots (though Gordian knot-like issues might take longer to unknot!). -- J xx

  25. Immensely lovely images! We're very lucky to have not one, but two, beautiful (large!) lakes here in our town (and numerous others all around us in the nearby vicinity), but sometimes I still crave the sea (which is a few hundred miles away). There's just nothing quite like that saline scented, sun baked air come summertime.
